Big Grove Brewery will be releasing their Citra Triad today at the brewery and will follow with more tappings of these three brews at other locations. If you’re in the CR/IC area you’ll want to get your hands on these! These three beers are Arms Race, 16 Minuteman, and Trident, get them while you can! Here’s the info:

Big Grove Citra Triad Coming Dec. 21st and Business Time Double IPA w/Kiwi pin this Friday!
Big Grove is busy place this month as they prepare for their “Citra Triad” release which will consist of Arms Race, 16 Minuteman Double IPA, and Trident Triple IPA. These three brews will be available in the taproom starting December 21st and then hit some accounts on the days following. Stay tuned for more.
Big Grove has been doing some great pin releases on Friday evenings and this Friday will be no different. They will be tapping a cask of their Business Time double IPA with kiwi this Friday, December 16th. Make sure you check this out!
Founders Announces 2017 Release Schedule

Drink This! Kickshaw Barrel Works Pipo
This past summer I waited with baited breath on the release of Ballast Point’s Watermelon Dorado, seeking that refreshing melon flavor that defines summer. When it finally arrived and I cracked my first one, the overwhelming jolly rancher watermelon flavor was a bit too much for me. I know some of you enjoyed it, and that’s great, but it just wasn’t for me.
Fast forward to two weeks ago. Sitting at the C + D Lounge with the one and only William Heinrich and he brings out a bottle of his Pipo. An oak aged golden ale I suppose? with local Kroul Farms watermelon added. First sip, watermelon + watermelon rind, perfect flavor. Not over the top “fake” melon additive, but the real, fresh out of the garden melon flavor that I had been seeking. The acidity was very balanced and the brett really blended well with the melon flavor. This is the beer I had been seeking this summer, and even though I’m looking out my window at the snow falling, I have another bottle of Pipo sitting in front of me waiting to be cracked for a perfect Iowa winter day!
Had paired this beer with Thanksgiving dinner. It went very well with turkey, ham, and some smoked ribs, but it really shined with just a dinner salad with some vinaigrette!
Cheers Bill, you nailed this one and I can’t wait to see what else you have in store! Pipo is in stores, get to your local store, grab a couple of sixers and then a few bottles of Pipo and Drink This!
Backpocket Building a Taproom in Dubuque
Backpocket Brewing based out of Coralville has announced they will be adding a taproom to Dubuque. The taproom will be located in the Dubuque Millwork District and will have special release and limited Backpocket beers available. A taproom means there will not be any brewing on site but will feature the beers from Backpocket Brewing. Backpocket Brewing will be opening a Taproom in the Dubuque Millwork district in early 2017. We will feature all the new releases/specialty Backpocket beers, those with limited availability. Initially we will serve drinks only, opening our doors to all local restaurants to deliver food to our patrons. In time we hope to make the same great pizzas that we serve in Coralville. We are super excited to bring our craft beers to Dubuque!

Barrel-Aged January Returning to Lion Bridge Brewery
It used to suck to have a birthday in the month of January, but thankfully Lion Bridge Brewery just turned what is usually a shitty, cold, dark, month into a glorious, beer-filled month! Lion Bridge Brewery in Cedar Rapids just released the details on their Barrel-Aged January releases and lineup looks outstanding.
