Field Day Brewing Takes Home a Silver Medal at the 2025 Great American Beer Festival® Competition

Field Day Brewing is recognized as one of the best brews in the nation at the country’s largest professional beer competition

North Liberty  — Field Day Brewing earned a silver medal at the 2025 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition, hosted and presented by the Brewers Association®.

In the 2025 competition, beers and ciders spanning 108 beer categories and six cider categories were judged by panels of professional judges.  Winning a coveted Great American Beer Festival competition medal signifies global recognition for brewing excellence, acknowledging the quality and style accuracy of the beer or cider.

Field Day Brewing was recognized in the American Fruit Beer category for its Lime Featherweight, an American lager brewed with over 80 pounds of fresh limes in each batch. Field Day Brewing is a 15-barrel brewpub located in North Liberty, Iowa, that prides itself in its Czech and German lagers.

“Having just celebrated our two-year anniversary in August, bringing home national recognition at the most prestigious and competitive beer competition in the country was a huge win for us,” said Alec Travis, Owner/Director of Brewing Operations at Field Day. “Unfortunately, we were the only Iowa brewery to secure any medals this year, which is out of the ordinary. Nonetheless, we were honored to help put Iowa on the map for world class beer in 2025 like many have before us. This wasn’t just a win for Field Day Brewing and Lime Featherweight; it was a win for the brewing industry in Iowa as a whole.”

This year’s results revealed 273 breweries and cideries earned 347 medals out of over 8,500 entries. The Great American Beer Festival panel of judges evaluated noteworthy brews and ciders across 108 beer categories, six cider categories, and the Pro-Am and Collaboration competitions.

“The Great American Beer Festival competition is the ultimate proving ground, recognizing the absolute best in innovation and craftsmanship from brewers all over the country. Earning a medal here, whether it’s gold, silver, or bronze, is an incredible, career-defining achievement that signifies a brew’s excellence against the most rigorous standards in the industry,” remarked Chris Williams, competition director for the Brewers Association. “The Brewers Association proudly celebrates the accomplishments of every single medal winner.”

The awards ceremony, live-streamed on The Brewing Network on Saturday, October 11, 2025, was held in the festival hall at the Colorado Convention Center as part of the Great American Beer Festival before Saturday’s session. Confluence announces anniversary week beer lineup!

Courtesy of Confluence Brewing:

To celebrate our 13th anniversary, we will be releasing 5 beers on Friday, October 17th!

Lucky 13, Irish Stout w/Dark Cacao & Mint, 6.1% ABV
– “Call it fate. Call it luck. Call it karma. I believe that everything happens for a reason.” – Dr. Peter Venkman
We’ve been unquestionably lucky for 13 years now. To grow and thrive as we have in the craft brewing industry is a testament to the passion, hard work and perseverance of our team. The creativity and ingenuity of our brewers, the persistence and determination of our sales and distribution department, and the warm and friendly nature of our taproom staff has helped propel us past plenty of trials and tribulations. But ability is of little account without opportunity, and over the last 13 years we have been so lucky that you, our fans, have given us the opportunity to put our skills to use and thrive doing what we love. Lucky 13 was brewed in celebration of that good fortune, an approachable stout, brewed to be sweet and chocolatey, but not too heavy bodied. The addition of refreshing and cool mint provides a delightful contrast to the richness and slight bitterness of the roasted cacao nibs creating an experience that is decadent and bright. We think it’s the perfect brew to sip on and reflect back on just how lucky we truly are. Here’s to you, our wonderful fans, and to many more years of fantastic beers!

Harvest IPA, Fresh Hop India Pale Ale, 6.0% ABV
– From a classic Czech Pilsner to the trendiest of milkshake IPAs, kiln dried and pelletized hops are the industry standard for almost every beer you enjoy throughout the year. We say almost, because once a year, when the fresh hops are ready for harvest we have the opportunity to brew a “Wet” Hopped IPA. We overnighted freshly picked Cascade from the Crosby hop yards in Oregon, and within 48 hours these unkilned hops go directly from bine to our kettles. We keep the malt bill simple to allow that distinctive smooth fresh hop character to shine through. In fact, most of the fresh hops are saved for the whirlpool, where the Cascade is encouraged to impart its orange, grapefruit and floral flavors and aroma to the beer without excess bitterness. Brewed fresh to be enjoyed fresh, pick up a four pack and help us bring in the harvest!

Bourbon Barrel Ferryman’s, Bourbon Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout, 13.4% ABV
– Legend has it that on occasion the confluence of the Des Moines and the Raccoon rivers are met by an ethereal third, known to some as the river Styx. It’s trafficked by a cloaked and mysterious black figure who, since time immemorial, has conveyed souls from one bank to the other, pausing only occasionally to refresh his own weary spirit. We’ve managed to save away a small measure of that otherworldly tonic, and preserved it in carefully selected bourbon barrels until the time was right. A rich blend of roasted and chocolate malts meld seamlessly with the heat, caramel and dark macerated fruits from the whiskey casks resulting in precisely the treat needed to sustain our shadowy visitor and bring a smile to his face. We hope this legendary beer does the same for you, our legendary fans. Cheers!

Ferryman’s Mocha, Bourbon Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout with Coffee, Cacao & Vanilla, 13.4% ABV

With a rich decadent blend of chocolate malts layered over fudgy cacao nibs and enough freshly roasted coffee beans to wake the dead., this stout is precisely the treat needed to sustain this eternal mission and bring a smile to his face. We hope this legendary beer does the same for you, our legendary fans. Cheers!

Ferryman’s Pistachio Cream, Bourbon Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout with Pistachios & Vanilla, 13.4% ABV

Brasserie CANTILLON – Brasserie De La Senne:

Cantillon / De La Senne – Biere de Coupage 24/330ml BOT – Created for the 25th birthday of Cantillon’s Quintessence. This beer uses an ancient and typically Belgian technique called ‘Coupage’: the blend of a sour beer with a young ale. The sour beer used is 2-year-old Lambic from Cantillon. The result is a 6.2% abv amber beer, with an appealing tartness and a deep, complex vinous character. 6.2% ABV – BE

De La Senne Taras Boulba 24/330ml BOT – A world-class hoppy pale ale from one of Belgium’s best craft breweries. Noble Hop Bomb. A thirst-quencher, light and refreshing, but with a well-affirmed character. Blond and slightly hazy, it develops fragrances of noble hops in dry hopping, which give it herbal, floral, and light citrus notes. It has a powerful bitterness and a dry finale. Its profile is completed by malty notes of fresh cereals, as well as by fruity/spicy fermentation flavors. 4.5% ABV – BE

De La Senne Jambe-de-Bois 24/330ml – Brilliant hop-forward triple. Very balanced, and treacherous: the alcohol is never aggressive, which makes it dangerously easy to drink. 8% ABV – BE

De La Senne Coucou Puissant 24/330ml BOT – An exhilarating and full-bodied Dry-Hopped Quad. It’s deep amber in color with a creamy head and aromas of stone fruits, persimmon, flowers and spice. Generous dry-hopping with German hops adds a beautiful long bitterness to the malty flavor, bringing balance to the palate. 9.5% ABV – BE

De La Senne Stouterik 24/330ml BOT – Belgian Stout in the Irish style. Light, dry, and freshly bitter with complex roasted notes. The scent is pleasantly fragranced by the presence of an English aromatic hop particularly appreciated by connoisseurs. 5% ABV – BE
