Dole Whip – Fruit Sour ale
Hello Summer!! Berlinerweisse style ale with Pineapple puree, Pineapple juice and Vanilla come together to make this sweet concoction.

Mast Theory DBL IPA – Mast Landing brewing

Mast Theory pours hazy tangerine in color with aromas of pineapple, strawberry, papaya, clementine, hop fields, and fresh grass. Bright flavors of earthy passionfruit, papaya chunks, key lime, and berries and cream meet Florida citrus groves with a rainbow melon sorbet #EQjuice finish. This one is easy to drink and may disappear from your glass quickly so we recommend completing your mast theories before cracking a can.

MC2 – DBL IPA
C² tastes like succulent mango juice loaded with chewy hop resins. It’s very drinkable for 8.0%; be careful, this one can sneak up on you.

Fractal Nelson/Citra IPA
Fractal Nelson/Citra investigates the interplay between Nelson and Citra, and our revised hopping processes. Fractal Nelson/Citra pours a resinous-hazy-straw yellow releasing bright aromas of lemongrass and pineapple. The taste is pineapple, lemon peel, citrus, and New Zealand fields in flowable mouthfeel and a firm but rounded bitterness.

Mosaic Function Triple IPA
We started off with our TIPA base loaded with oats and wheat before an all mosaic hop bill using Mosaic Incognito, Mosaic Lupomax, and Mosaic T-90s. Mosaic function pours deep yellow with aromas of tropical yuzu, citrus, apricot, and forest with pronounced flavors of assorted citrus, papaya, green skittles, blueberry skins and the faintest whisp of pine.

Neo Flash DBL IPA
Neo Flash is our newest 7.7% Double IPA showcasing Cascade, Nelson Sauvin and Vic Secret hops. We played around with the grain bill for this one and went heavy on the wheat and lower on the oats. The wheat keeps things light and fluffy with a inherently sorta juicy mouthfeel, that with the hops brings out pineapple and passionfruit with just a touch of some old school hop character.

Blue Hour – Vermont Style Dbl IPA

Blue Hour, is here and is our nod to the beer(s) from the early days of haze. The bitterness is balanced, but firm, and flavors of bright, orange marmalade and sticky pine sap with a squeeze of fresh grapefruit flavors make this beer an easy one to kick back with.

Vivid Light West Coast IPA

This crispy little American IPA hopped with 100% American hops, brewed with a clean tasting combo of pale malt and fermented with American Ale yeast. This one’s meant to taste like a classic hoppy ale that probably got you into beer in the first place. This is one we gravitate towards, especially in the heat of the Summer.

Lulz Pineapple Mango Guava Smoothie seltzer

Court Avenue releasing 2 collabs (Lua + Reunion) in July!

Court Avenue Brewing Company will be releasing two new collaboration beers in early July. They’ve teamed up with Lua for a double NEIPA and then also teamed up with Reunion Brewing for an Italian Pilsner. Here’s more courtesy of CABCOs brewing’s Facebook page:

Those silly ReUnion bois David and Pete came down a while ago for a low n’ slow Italian Pilsner. It’s just about finished lagering and is refreshingly crisp. WATER COOLER ROMANCE starts with an all Pilsner malt base and then we threw in some of our favorite hops: Nelson Sauvin, Huell Melon, Hallertau Blanc and that classic baddie, Saaz.
Last week Zack from Lua popped down and was like, what if we do a hazy pale? And you know what, we tried and ended up with a Double NEIPA. Wild how that works. ROULETTE DARES is dapped up with an absurd amount of Citra, Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin hops and comes in heavy at a robust 8.4%.

Tri-Clamp & Gasket
For the first time ever, we are releasing a tripled version of our popular DDH IPA Clamp & Gasket. 𝗧𝗿𝗶-𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗽 & 𝗚𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝘁 is a TIPA that’s triple dry-hopped with Amarillo, Citra, Strata, and Idaho 7. Chula – Mango Gose
We’re excited to announce the return of 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗹𝗮, our fan-favorite summer seasonal! You can look all year long, but you won’t find a beer that turns up the heat quite like Chula. Inspired by mangonadas, the original summer refresher, this fruited Gose is brewed with Mango and a Big Mich Chile Spice Blend sourced by our friends Feast City exclusively for this release. When it comes to our beer, we brew them with passion and patience hoping that they mature into something special. Sometimes, though, we get lucky and the result exceeds our expectations by a mile. (6.5% ABV)

Huntley Helles Lager
This German-style lager is brewed with our soft water and some of our favorite German malts and hops, then lagered in our horizontal tank. An extremely soft mouthfeel with a pleasant malt profile and hints of noble hops, then ends in an ever so smooth finish.

Sonic Painting – Fruit Smoothie style Sour 6% ABV
A fun smoothie style sour ale loaded with Mango, Red Prickly Pear, Pink Guava, Marshmallow and Milk Sugar. Drippy sweet mango, tart guava, and red prickly pear with slight earthiness all blend into a drink reminiscent of early vacation mornings.

NEW – Corporate Sellout Move IPA
This is an IPA! It’s a collab with Cloudburst, in Seattle. They make great hoppy beer. They are industry vets, which plays into the name (we’ll get to that). They are the sort of small brewery that spends a ton of time doing wet hop beers, getting to know growers, learning about the business of hops, and generally just being in the loop about all things hops. It’s enlightening to talk to them, drink some of their beers, and understand that the idea that maybe IPA could look like a hazy beer but not just be a glass full of smoosh with no structure at all whatsoever.

Foamers Lime is our idea of a perfect summer day, in can form. It’s our favorite drinking beer, Crankin’ Foamers, with some really choice lime puree thrown into the mix. Bright, zesty, juicy, maximally crisp and drinkable.

Dreamyard Reloads!!
New England IPA that’s made from oats and wheat. Splendidly hazy with aromas of stonefruit, pineapple, and citrus. An insane amount of Citra and Sultana hops per barrel make this beer an incredibly juicy and citrusy treat with an approachable level of bitterness.

DDH Dad Jokes DBL IPA 8.6% ABV
Can you pass me the grill tongs? I can’t make it, I have to mow the lawn. When was the last time you got your oil changed? Our yearly salute to all the dads, aspiring dads, dad figures & dad joke enthusiasts out there. This round with double the love by way of our hand selected Citra, Mosaic, Cashmere & Vic Secret. LOUDBITS – Weldwerks/Blackstack Collab (juicy bits meets loud pack) 8% ABV
An 8% DDH Double New England IPA, brewed in collaboration with WeldWerks Brewing. It is a combined recipe of their famous Juicy Bits and our yearly favorite Loud Pack. It features BlackStack’s hand selected Citra, Mosaic and Australian Galaxy, in combination with El Dorado hops selected by WeldWerks.

Sprudel Kolsch
Sprudel is our German-Style Kolsch. This pseudo lager/ale is technically an ale but fermented cool to create a clean character with little fruity esters that play off the crackery pilsner malt and touch of toasty Munich malt we used. Subtle noble hop character for balance at the end.

Pixel Density
Our core hazy, exclusively hopped with our hand-selected Citra. Clocking in at 6.5%, this beer is a versatile, full-of-flavor, not-too-heavy, bright, pillowy hazy IPA to reach for. Oh yea, it’s a 4.1rating on UNtappd too.

P3 Pilsner
This American-Style pilsner is made with 6-row American barley. This will provide a distinct character unique to American lagers. We took the ABV to 4.7% to further increase the drinkability. Lightly-hopped to provide balance to the malt. This beer isn’t hoppy, it isn’t malty, it’s simple at its core and the perfect companion to hiking, grilling, sitting by the pool, or enjoying in a hammock.

Misty Mirage DDH Hazy IPA
This 8% Hazy IPA is made with Citra Lupomax, Galaxy, Idaho7 Lupomax, and Mosaic Lupomax hops and is made @ Fair State Brewing Co-op.

Quite the update from Pequod this week with the announcement of two new breweries joining their portfolio. The first is a homegrown Iowa brewery, as Alluvial will start their distro footprint slowly with kegs only in the Des Moines/Ames market and slowly expand from there. Phase Three out of Lake Zurich, IL will be both keg and cans and their first update is below!

Pixel Density – Hazy IPA
Our core hazy, exclusively hopped with our hand-selected Citra. Clocking in at 6.5%, this beer is a versatile, full-of-flavor, not-too-heavy, bright, pillowy hazy IPA to reach for.

Aquatic Gardens – DBL Hazy IPA – 7.8%
Double IPA featuring a hop combination of Vic Secret, Amarillo and Wai-iti. Aromas of pineapple, strawberry and passionfruit, and tastes like candied orange wedges and mango dipped in blueberry resin.

DDH Protocol DBL Hazy IPA – 8%
Brewed with Citra, El Dorado and Galaxy for a smooth, creamy body, loaded with citrus and tropical fruit aromas and flavors.

Lulz R & R Smoothie Seltzer – Currently rated 5th best in the world
Smoothie-style hard seltzer with guava, coconut, pineapple + orange

Juice Drops Peach Nectaron IPA – This one is really good!
India Pale Ale with Nectaron hops, peach juice and peach flavor. Say hello to your new best friend for the summer. Notes of peach rings in this fantastic IPA

Everhaze – Hazy IPA
Ever Haze is an India Pale Ale brewed w/ Cashmere, Citra, and Amarillo

Juggling Five Dbl IPA
We’ve aimed at staying trippy when it comes to hops by using experimentals, playing with proportions, tweaking our hop schedules, all that jazzy stuff. We’ve come to really love a specific handful of them, so we went for a tripping FIRST and threw all FIVE of the bad boys into a DIPA. You’ll have a tropical rainforest of aromatics and notes, rounded out with a distinct crisp dryness.

Killer Kolsch
A clean, crisp beer, Kölsch offers a very slight fruity flavor and aroma. It is light gold in color, with a delicate head. This light-bodied beer appeals to nearly everyone who samples it.

No Mames – mexican Style lager
A crisp, clean, massively refreshing Mexican lager with subtle notes of flaked corn. Limitlessly crushable, beyond satisfying.

The Ultimate Trip -fruit sour
Fruited Sour conditioned w/ Blueberry, Pistacho, Vanilla, and Lactose

Who Loves Orange Soda? – soda inspired fruit beer
Introducing the second installment to our soda-POP inspired FRESCO SERIES, were bringing you animals the orange FIZZY right out of your childhood memories just pop, pour, sip and repeat Be careful with this one y’all, its not your average orange soda. Although it sure drinks like it and not a soul would be none the wiser.

**DBL Fractal Hilbert Curve DDH DIPA**
Pouring a bright mango yellow, aromas of tangerine and green grapes lead into flavors of dank grassy fields, OJ and papaya juice, pineapple, berry compote, and a touch of faint white pepper with our signature #EQJuice finish.

**Fluctuation DDH DIPA – KEG ONLY**
Fluctuation has bright tropical notes of passion fruit, mango, pineapple, and lychee with an undercurrent of sorbet and cream await!

**HDHC Dream Wave Fluctuation (Other half Brewing Collab)**
HDHC Dream Wave Fluctuation glows while releasing aromas and flavors of deep saturated passion fruit, pineapple syrup, overripe stone fruit, and creamy lime pudding. Intense fruit flavors are explosive with a tropical fruit custard finish lined with our #EQjuice melon finish. HDHC Dreamwave Fluctuation is dangerously smooth and is sure to fluctuate your dream waves.

We wanted to liquify one of our favorite candy bars so we boiled up a big base stout and conditioned it on shredded coconut, almonds, Madagascar vanilla, and cacao nibs.

Had to catch a cab back to the lab with our buds at Equilibrium Brewery from Middleton, New York. We did some mind melding to intertwine our respective approaches to hop processes & brewing larger IPAs and this is where we landed: Hand-selected Strata, Strata CGX™, Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo™ & Australian Galaxy on a bed of Pilsner & 5 different types of Oats & Wheat. Primo Stack Sauce, Straight outta the Lab.

Sneak Peek: Backpocket 10th Anniversary Stout

Backpocket Brewing’s 10th Anniversary is coming up this Saturday (6/11), and over the years their stout release is one of Iowa’s most anticipated releases and this year will be no different. I was lucky enough to get a bottle a few days before this year’s release and give it a taste.

Our 10th Anniversary Russian Imperial Stout is aged on roasted coconut, followed by 24 months in Mississippi River Distilling bourbon barrels with a heavy dose of vanilla bean. Rich whiskey flavors with accents of cinnamon, vanilla and oak.
Nose of vanilla, coconut and some chocolate. Head dissipates quickly, the flavor is a hint of sweet coconut up front, the barrel and vanilla mesh extremely well. Some coffee and chocolate notes in there as well, light, creamy, smooth and delicious. Definitely a beer worth seeking!

Making it’s annual return is Rocket Pop our sparkling blue friend. That famous Blue Razz flavored seltzer sure to tickle your nose and remind of simpler days.

Who wants some alcoholic Sunny D in their lives? This is the next in line for their “nostalgic series” hard seltzers.

NEW- Clamp & Gasket DDH Hazy IPA

DDH IPA with Amarillo, Citra, Strata, and Idaho-7. This batch we’re tasting notes of pungent florals soaked in mango marmalade sodden with darjeeling tea, crushed goose berries, and zested red grapefruit. Tangy citrus is also at the forefront and gives way to a nice sophisticated bitterness that is anything but overpowering.

To the trees IPA

American West-Coast style IPA that’s a bit boulder…err…bolder than your every day IPA. Brewed with a lush combo of Amarillo, Centennial, CTZ, and Simcoe hops, this IPA is a hoppy trailblazer who’s not afraid to take the lead and set the trend.

Open Fields Cream Ale

This all-day, light-bodied beer is brewed with flaked corn to lend a crisp, dry finish. Soft, ultra-pure water helps yield a delicate mouthfeel, refreshing taste, and lingering fruity notes from the hops that makes this easy drinking ale so crushable, you might even forget to hit a home run.

Agra Pina Colada Seltzer This fresh, juicy seltzer is awash with fresh coconut juice and tangy pineapple that surfs over an extremely clean and soft water base. Clocking in at 5% ABV, our seltzers are made with REAL FRUIT while still maintaining extreme crush-ability. Brewed naturally gluten & dairy-free with virtually no bitterness.
