Backpocket Brewing and Peace Tree Brewing to Relocate Production to Waterloo
Waterloo to Become Home to One of Iowa’s Largest and Most Award-Winning Brewery Hubs
Waterloo, Iowa — With the City of Waterloo’s approval of a new development agreement, SingleSpeed Brewing Co. is excited to announce that Backpocket Brewing and Peace Tree Brewing will relocate their production to SingleSpeed’s Waterloo brewery at 325 Commercial Street beginning in early 2026.
The move unites three of Iowa’s most celebrated craft breweries under one roof, creating one of the largest and most award-winning brewery locations in the state.
“This is a win for Waterloo, for Iowa craft beer, and for every fan who has supported our breweries along the way,” said Dave Morgan, Founder, SingleSpeed. “By bringing these teams together at our WonderBread facility, we’re building a destination that showcases the best of Iowa beer and sets the stage for future innovation.”
Highlights of the partnership include:
Backpocket Brewing and Peace Tree Brewing will move their production operations to Waterloo, joining SingleSpeed at the expanded facility. The combined operation will be branded as The Brewery @ WonderBread, offering production, collaboration, and a vibrant taproom experience.
SingleSpeed Brewing Co. will acquire Backpocket Brewing’s intellectual property and integrate its team, ensuring the continued growth of the Backpocket brand.
“This collaboration ensures our brands and Iowa’s craft beer tradition will not only endure, but thrive,” said Aaron Vargas, Owner, Backpocket/Peace Tree. With this expansion, Waterloo strengthens its role as a centerpiece for craft brewing in Iowa, drawing visitors and beer enthusiasts from across the region.
