Drink These! Dimensional/Marto 300 Series!

I haven’t done a Drink This! write up in a while and after finishing off the 2nd beer of the collab between Marto Brewing and Dimensional Brewing I thought it would be the perfect time to talk about these 2 outstanding beers.

First off, I need to thank Zach Crawford for getting me a bottle of each of these brews. There’s always that beer guy in the back of my head telling me to cellar for a while and then kick them out randomly but I don’t have the will to do so…

Here’s the release info on these two collab beers courtesy of Marto’s Facebook page:

Two beers brewed by two breweries using the same ingredients and methods, designed to be mixed together.

Ok, yes, designed to be mixed together, only I didn’t, and I loved them both. So, after I give you my break down of each beer, if did blend the two I would love to hear your thoughts. Marto 300 West first!

300 West (Marto)this beer comes in at 12.8% aged in Rabbit Hole bourbon barrels with maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla beans. Sometimes with cinnamon added to beers I can be a bit apprehensive as it can be an overwhelming adjunct, but not with this beer. The balance was spot on and maple and barrels are a match made in heaven. Add that cinnamon spice at the end and you really have a delicious, decadent beer, perfect for this time of year!

300 East (Dimensional) – this beer comes in at 12.8% aged in Blaum Brothers bourbon barrels with peanuts, peanut butter malted milk balls, marshmallow, and vanilla. Had this post Thanksgiving meal and it was the perfect dessert! I got a bit of the peanuts/peanut butter malted milk but the star of the show in this beer was the marshmallow! Once again, the balance of the beer was wonderful. Not one dominant flavor but a sample of each adjunct hitting you at different times. Damn tasty!

Overall: I love when Iowa breweries do collabs together, and when they go big like Dimensional and Marto did here the results can be amazing like they were with this series of beers! Definitely beers you can cellar, but definitely beers that you can drink right now, wish I had a few more! Turn the house lights off, light up the Christmas trees, fireplace going, soft music in the background and Drink These beers! Cheers!

This Sour à la Mode is loaded up with the dynamite combination of Strawberry and Rhubarb plus granola, brown sugar, cinnamon, lactose, and vanilla beans for that slangy, cobblery, right out of Grandma’s oven flavor.

Magic of a Different Color Double IPA
Magic of a Different Color is a Phantasmically delicious DIPA brewed with a bunch of oats for a super soft body and then hopped with Centiennial, Citra, Galaxy, Nelson Sauvin, and Phantasm for some super fruity & juicy notes, and then we fermented it with Helio Gazer yeast to bring out even more notes of viognier grapes, lychee, peach, pear, and tropical fruit!
Oh lawd… We took this sundae sour and baked it up with a mountain of confetti cake, filled it with strawberry and raspberry jelly then covered it in frosting and plopped a candle on top. It’s our party and we’ll Chonk if we want to!

Garbage People Double IPA
Don’t know about you guys, but we were always a little more Garbage Pail Kids than Cabbage Patch Kids. We grew up (technically, but not really) and we aren’t kids anymore so we’re just Garbage People. This new Double IPA is hopped with Mosaic, Galaxy, Citra, and Vic Secret with some serious dank, orange zest, bubble gum, & apricot flavor and aroma.⠀

So crack one of these and decide which Garbage Pail Kid you feel like? Oozy Suzy? Maybe a little more like Jay Decay? Let us know, we’ve got a feeling you’re Garbage People too.⠀

More Drekker brews coming from Pequod!

Braaaaaaains Blackberry Cherry Plum
A new Braaaaaaaains! We stuffed this one with Blackberry, Cherries and Plum and then hit it with our double secret smoothie treatment of sea salt, lactose, and vanilla!⠀

NEW – Two Right Eyes – Hazy DBL IPA

For this banger we set out to laser focus our vision, flip our perspective and get weird with our hopping scheme. To kick it off we chose our lovely and hand-selected Citra & Mosaic. It’s all very nerdy and scientific but basically we reimagined a totally new dry hop schedule and used our evil robot centrifuge to create a total juice unit. It simply explodes with notes of apricot, pineapple, kiwi, melon and that sticky icky dankness we just can’t get enough of. ⠀

Prrt – So Good
You know you’re in for a good time when you see people walking around with cotton candy, and this one’s definitely a good time. PRRRT So Good is loaded it up with Strawberry & Blueberry and then hit it with cotton candy floss for that real melt in your mouth, sticky fingers at the fair cotton candy flavor.⠀Contains no lactose.

Chonk – Birthday Cake
Oh lawd… We took this sundae sour and baked it up with a mountain of confetti cake, filled it with strawberry and raspberry jelly then covered it in frosting and plopped a candle on top. It’s our party and we’ll Chonk if we want to!
