Hello my friend we meet again, it’s been a while, where should we begin? How about over a bottle of WEATHERED, a barrel-aged stout we brewed with our friends at Back Channel Brewing. Aged 26 months in Elijah Craig barrels, expect baker’s chocolate, crème brûlée, and a pleasant warmth lent by the barrels. When you see the signs, don’t stop dancing, ‘cause when you’re with me, I’m careless and I believe.

Sales for WEATHERED bottles go live tomorrow (Tuesday, 3/5) at 10AM online via TOAST (link in our bio) and will remain on sale, online, during our regular business hours until sold out.

WEATHERED will be sold as solo 375mL bottles, limit three bottles per person & proxies are absolutely allowed. Picking up for a proxy? Just be sure to have their name/order number ready for us when you’re picking up .

Draft pours and bottle pickup start at 11AM here in our Sherman Hill taproom on Friday, March 8 and may be picked up anytime during regular business hours by end of day Sunday, March 10.

Call it Mektoub or Kismet, your lot in life, or fate, but sometimes the stars line up. We have known Austin and the beautiful humans north of us in Rochester, MN for over a decade. Our paths first crossed when we heard of these innovators foraging ingredients and making beer with it. Their Moto: Think Globally, Forage Locally, Live Humbly and Drink Adventurously! is very much in concurrence with ours.

It took over a decade but our paths have finally merged! We are thrilled, privileged and humbled (see what we did there?), but we’ll let them break the news.

“Local 11” light lager returns to Clock House Friday March 1st!

We are ecstatic to announce the return of Local 11 Lager this Friday, March 1st!

On February 28th, 1918 the International Association of Firefighters was born to support firefighters throughout the United States and Canada. More importantly, your Cedar Rapids Professional Firefighters were one of the first inaugural unions to come together in solidarity and charter with the IAFF. Our Cedar Rapids Professional Firefighters are collectively known as IAFF Local 11 as they were the 11th Union to sign with the IAFF. Now there are over 3,500 Locals internationally.

The love and dedication for our craft gets poured into every beverage. The same love and dedication that Local 11 has for serving our community, the City of Five Seasons.

With this collaboration, we offer a toast to those that came before us, those who serve today, and those who will follow this calling tomorrow.

You can show your support by drinking Local 11 Lager, an American Light Lager crafted from just barley, rice, and hops.

Part of the proceeds will be donated back to Local 11 to help sustain the efforts of serving our community for future generations to come.

A new double IPA will be making it’s way to cans and draft lines at Field Day Brewing. “Sledge Hammer” checks in at 8% ABV and uses 5.5 lbs of Riwaka, Citra, and Motueka hops per barrel and will be available in 4 packs to go on on draft starting tomorrow (2/21)!

We are Grateful, Honored and Humbled to our Illinois friends at Phase Three Brewing for trusting us with their fine brews. We’ve always admired their fine work and were kind of bummed that they were not within our realm. Well, we couldn’t be more delighted that this has changed!

We are heading there to pick up early next week so they can be delivered to your shelves next Thursday. For freshness sake, we agreed that we will be doing 2 pickups a month. Their kegs are filled on demand, so please reach out to your Abu Nawas Sales Rep about current availability and timelines: we’ll take care of you. Hellscape (Smoked Helles, 5.2%) – We included Weyermann Beechwood Smoked Malt into this traditional German Lager because we love delicious smoky treats. If you’re not familiar with smoked beers, grab a pint and see for yourself!

Heart Strings (Pineapple, Raspberry, Blueberry Sour, 5.5%) – Tropical pineapple melds with tart and tangy raspberry. A new sour to bring a little more love into your life.
