Another re-release coming from Lion Bridge as they are bringing back “Zach Morris Cellphone” on April 13th! Here are the details from Lion Bridge on this brew:
Zack Morris Cell Phone (Hazy IPA, 6.8%) – This beer is based on a mixed drink of the same name that maybe never existed. Back in days of yore, Quinton, founder of LBBC, was told by a barfly to order a ZMCP and that it contained orange. When he went to order it, the bartenders shrugged their shoulders, and the barfly had vanished. In an attempt to bring closure to this mystery, we have made a massively dry-hopped hazy IPA with orange puree and hope that it brings Quinton some peace.
Taproom opens at 3pm, available on draft and to-go packs!
Two tasty brews will be returning to Lion Bridge brewery tomorrow (March 23rd)! Peachy Keen and Me Time make their anticipated returns when the brewery doors open at 3 p.m.! Here’s more on these two beers from Lion Bridge:
2 fan favorite Lion Bridge beers returning tomorrow on Wednesday 3/23.
Release #1 is Peachy Keen Kettle Sour with Peach Gummy Rings !
200lbs of Peach Gummy Rings had a little rest with our house kettle sour and the result is just peachy, just Peachy Keen!
Release #2 is Me Time Hazy IPA.
What’s tomorrow, Saturday? Wait, what? Wednesday!?!? Hey, it’s ok to reach for a bit of Me Time tomorrow when the taproom opens at 3pm. Let the Citra and Cashmere dry hop be your aromatherapy, and then give the can a crush when you’re done for some added stress relief!
A personal favorite makes it’s return as Java Gypsy is coming back to Clock House with a two variants available! Release is on March 12th, here’s more from Clock House:
JAVA GYPSY is back on Friday March 11th. And this year we brewed up something special for you! We brewed not 1 but 2 specialty brews for you, featuring our friends from @roasterscoffeehiawatha and @roastedonross .
For the first variant we decided to team up with Roasters Coffee House in Hiawatha! One of our favorite beans from them in the past has been their medium roast Caramel Pecan. If you can remember way back to our very first coffee porter (yes the one without a name) we actually used this flavored bean to craft that delicious brew. These beans provide very strong notes of pecan and sweet caramel that meld together in perfect harmony.
We teamed up with Ross Street Roasting Co and ordered a variety of their delicious offerings. After cold steeping three types of beans we were blown away by the results. All three were unique and delicious. It was hard to select our favorite from the group! After much thought and consideration we decided on their Bohemian Gothic. This bean gave our porter notes of chocolate and subtle smoke without coming across bitter. We’re excited to release this delicious offering! Be sure to look for their beans in stores.
We will be selling mixed 4-packs for $14. And each volume will be available on draft as well.
When Reunion was teasing this release and having Wake involved in the brewing process, I was already sold. Reading further about this release and being a fan of Brett IPAs, I was super excited to have the chance to get my hands on some of these brews! Here’s the description from Reunion:
Brewed in collaboration with the wizards of WAKE BREWING. This nightmarish IPA was fermented with Brettanomyces Claussenii for a funky and tropic twang and dosed with heaps of Cryo Mosaic, Citra Lupomax and El Dorado Lupomax.
There have been a few Brett IPAs that I’ve really enjoyed. I was lucky enough to score Allagash’s “Little Brett”, which I enjoyed, but wanted a bit more hop presence. The Stone Enjoy After Brett IPA was tasty and I did purchase multiple bottles and enjoyed them. Crooked Stave has been a favorite brewery of mine and their Hop Savant was outstanding, tons of barnyard with a splash of hops….and then Tropic Nightmare came along….
First of all, this beer is beautiful..I’ve had a fresh pour from Reunion and multiple cans and it’s a stunning beer. Orange juice look with a thick frothy white head. Aroma is hops up front, dank and lovely. If you keep your nose in the glass for a bit longer you get that barnyard funk that brettheads love and desire!
Extremely refreshing! The funk shines and is wonderfully balanced with the hop bill. Tartness from the brett on the back of the tongue but also that refreshing and juicy splash of hops. Complex and delicious. Lots of flavors going on in this beer and for me, all of them wonderful.
This has been such a sight for sore eyes release. Something different, something new and a tip of the cap to Reunion and Wake for going in on a style that hasn’t necessarily dominated the market and totally crush it with Tropic Nightmare. Worth seeking, I’ll need more! Get to the brewery on the Coralville Strip and Drink This beer!

Reunion Brewery will be debuting “Lucid Lemur Dreams” hazy IPA this coming weekend on tap lines and shelves throughout Eastern Iowa! Here’s more on this release courtesy of Reunion’s Facebook page:
Lucid Lemur Dreams is about to drop! Our newest hazy IPA brewed with a dreamy blend of Mosaic Lupomax and Zappa hops hits taps and shelves this weekend. Laced with juicy, tropical flavors and a uniquely green twang from Neomexicanus Zappa hops. You won’t want to sleep on this one!
Yesterday, Clock House Brewing released two new beers in their taproom. One of those beers happened to come at a time when we all just dropped a paycheck on multiple boxes of Girl Scout cookies…and my favorite Girl Scout cookie is now in beer form thanks to Clock House….BEHOLD…..Coco Suenos!!!
Coco Suenos is a imperial stout loaded with who knows how many packages of caramel delite cookies, caramel, chocolate, and coconut! Let’s dive into this delicious brew!
AROMA The nose is straight up cookies…caramel, chocolate, a bit of coconut…when the nose hits like this it’s hard to let the beer sit to about room temp, so I had to sneak in a quick sip!
APPEARANCE Motor oil black, you can tell that the mouthfeel was going to be dense compared to some. Lots of lacing on the glass.
TASTE All the flavors of the cookies shine…caramel, chocolate, coconut compliment the booze nicely. Let it warm a bit and you get all the flavors. It’s sweet, but not overly, that was an initial worry. Well-balanced, the mouthfeel was viscous. I like a thicker stout and this one surely is. Definitely a decadent stout worth seeking.
OVERALL If you get a chance, don’t miss out. Only on tap at the Clock House brewery in Cedar Rapids. This is one worth seeking and sipping and enjoying. Definitely a beer to start my best of 2022 list with and I hope you give it a try and enjoy it! Cheers!
