Something the Map Room in downtown Cedar Rapids does once a month is host a charity or fundraising event for those in need, and on Tuesday June 8th, they are hosting one that hits home for me. A co-worker and good friend of mine and his wife are currently expecting their first child in July, recently she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Upon hearing, I reached out to many establishments who have graciously extended a helping hand and the wonderful people at The Map Room is going to donate 10% of all sales they make on June 8th to my friend’s family! I cannot thank Christina Springman and her staff enough, they are what makes living in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City wonderful. Please choose to dine in or order out from the Map Room on June 8th and continue to support them after as well! Cheers!
