Thew Brewing announces “Sour Saturday” set for April 17th!

Sour beer lovers rejoice as Thew Brewing will be filling their tap lines with their “Askew” sour series on April 17th starting at noon! The seven originals from the series along with 5 new ones will be hitting the lines! Here’s more from Thew’s Facebook page and follow along with updates on the event by clicking here:

Calling all sour fans! We’re bringing back the original seven from the Askew sour series and adding five more for a full takeover of our own taps! Vote for your favorite and you may see it in a bigger run and in crowlers.Supply will be limited. On tap only, no crowlers, no flights.

Clock House releasing “Orange XXplosion” sour on Friday April, 2nd!

Another tasty sounding sour coming our way from Clock House brewing this coming Friday, April 2nd! “Orange XXplosion” will be the second release of their XXplosion series! Here’s more from the brewery:

The second variant of our XXplosion series features a trio of orange citrus fruits including: Tangerine, Cara Cara Orange, and Southern Hemisphere Oranges. Thus, creating a complex plethora of flavor that XXplodes out the glass. Enjoy this crushable juice around the table during brunch or outside on warm sunny day. We’re talking Vitamin C all day long baby!Available on draft and in cans. No growler fills due to limited supply.Release date: Friday, April 2nd at 3 PM.

Reds Alehouse has just gotten in a shipment of some tasty brews from the folks at Pulpit Rock. Limited quantities available so get there ASAP to get a couple cans for yourself! Here’s what is available:

Thew Brewing will be celebrating their 3 year anniversary with a weekend full of new beers available for purchase or to enjoy in the taproom and much more! Here’s what they have going:

Thew Brewing is gearing up to celebrate our third anniversary!
We have several days of fun planned. 
*Friday, March 12th – March Comedy Madness 7 & 9:30 PM – Tickets at shop.thewbrew.com/events 
*Saturday, March 13th – Thew Anniversary Party & Bottle Release 12-10 PMNoon: Bottle release of Double Tappa (BA imperial brown) and its coconut chocolate variant, $20/each We’ll have a fun tap lineup, including Double Tappa and the coconut chocolate variant. The Hacienda Las Glorias/La Cantina taco truck will be on site from 5-9 PM. 
*Tuesday, March 16th – Thew Anniversary 2-8 PM $4 tulips of Thew Askew #3 (with grape juice for a sparkling wine-like sour) 
*Wednesday, March 17th – St. Patrick’s Day 12-8 PM Thew Askew #6 release$3 pints of green Lager, Esq.

BG 4 year Anniversary March 14th!

4 year anniversary party coming to Big Grove’s Iowa City location and as always, Big Grove will be throwing some amazing brews our way! Here’s quick rundown of what we can expect and stay tuned for more info on these brews and on this anniversary party and check out Big Grove’s latest “Morning Brews” episode explaining the Batch 1000 variants. Lion Bridge releasing 3 beers in the coming weeks!

It’s pilsner time! Lion Bridge will be releasing their popular Ziva Voda Czech style pilsner on March 10th and 2 more beers will be coming out before that release! Here’s more from Lion Bridge courtesy of their Facebook page:

3/10/2021 RETURNING!!!Živá Voda (Czech-style Pilsner, 4.8%) – Named for the “living water” of Czech fairy tales that heals infirmities and counteracts spells. Bohemian Pilsner Malt adds subtle richness and accents of clover honey, while the addition of traditional Saaz hops throughout the run-off and long boil give this beer the distinctive earthiness and spice associated with authentic Pilsners. RETURNING!!! Sweep the Leg (Rice Lager, 4.5%) Utilizing a clean fermenting Kveik yeast for this “lager” might be deemed cheating by some, but we say do whatever it takes to win.

Clock House Brewing is introducing their “Classified Hop Series” and the first two releases will be this Friday! Here’s more info on these new releases courtesy of Clock House’s Facebook page:

Come join us this Friday as we release two new juicy NEIPA’s.The very start of our Classified Hops series. Volume one features Enigma and HBC 586. Notes of stone fruit, berries, and mango round out this incredibly balanced treat!Westward Bound: Our take on a beer-mosa. A very citrus forward base complemented with a touch of cara cara orange. Silky, sweet, and crushable!Available in cans/growlers, and on draft!

Thew Brewing and Pulpit Rock Brewing are once again coming together for a collab release of “Together 4ever”! This release will take place this Friday, February 12, @4:00 p.m. Here are the details on this beer:

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Together 4ever is back! We brew this milkshake IPA with peach, vanilla, and lactose every year with our pals at Pulpit Rock. Come get this sweet treat! Available on tap and in crowlers.

Along with the collab release, Thew will have the following beers available:

Island Life – pastry sour with strawberry, mango, and lemonade (contains lactose)

Confluence Brewing releases “Stout Month” schedule!

The month of February is “Stout Month” at Confluence Brewing Company in Des Moines! Starting February 5th and ending February 26th, Confluence will be releasing six stouts throughout! Here’s the lineup and more details can be found by clicking here:

February is Stout Month and we have a killer lineup that’ll keep you rockin’ for 28 days straight! Complete our Stout Month beer tour and receive an amazing commemorative Stout Month 2021 t-shirt. This year we’re expanding our promo to include curbside orders, so you can participate from the safety of your car, or a seat in our taproom. How can you get your hands on this bada** shirt? Check out the instructions below:We’ll hand you a ticket stub in the taproom, or include one in your curbside order when you make a purchase of each of the 6 stouts we’re releasing. Qualifying purchases include a draft pour in the taproom, or a 4-pack or bottle depending on the beer (curbside or taproom). Collect a ticket for each unique beer and redeem all 6 stubs at the end of the month for the shirt.
