I’ve been down to Need’s cellar and they sure have some amazing beers that they can kick out, and like it says below the first beer for you if you belong to the Cellar Club will be a 2015 Goose Island Bourbon County Stout. What better way to end the month of February and jump into the (hopefully) warmer month of March than a pizza and beer dinner?!! Need Pizza in downtown Cedar Rapids is teaming up with Gezellig Brewery out of Newton for a 5 course beer and pizza pairing dinner on February 27th!

The folks at Need Pizza have a little something up their sleeves for the beer lovers in the area. Cellar Club #1 details have emerged and they look mighty promising. The January beer Event includes one pour, a take home crowler of the cellar beer and pizza buffet.
Featured beer is the 2017 Barrel Aged Darkness from Surly. This massive Russian Imperial Stout brings waves of flavors; chocolate, cherries, raisins, coffee, and toffee. Darkness is a limited edition variant that spent over three months aging in Woodford Reserve Rye Whiskey Barrels. The aging process provides a distinct aromatic whiskey character that is oaky and spicy on top of the core Darkness flavors.
We are expecting a fun group of people. Feel free to bring a bottle to share.
Tickets are $40 per person plus processing fee. Tickets sales are final.

A great cause going on tonight at Need Pizza if you are in the Cedar Rapids area as Big Grove brewery will have their “Luckiest Man” pale ale being tapped tonight. Every year this gets tapped by Big Grove every pint that gets sold benefits ALS research. Speaking of the beer, this years release is tasting fantastic! Grab a pizza, have a couple of pints and help out a great cause!
