It begins with a high gravity, German-style Old Ale that is malt forward with a touch of sweet fruitiness from our house ale yeast. We feel this base beer is the perfect companion for an empty rye whiskey barrel. From there it takes on a hint of the spicy, peppery bite of rye, balancing the rich, malty sweetness. Mahogany in color with notes of maple and vanilla, this seasonal sipper is built for the holidays.

ARISE – Russian Imperial Stout BA in Heaven Hills barrels for 18 months 1/6 bbl: 

Birth, death and rebirth – that is the cyclical nature of things. Like the Phoenix rising from the ashes, this barrel-aged Russian Imperial Stout is born from an 18-month rest in the blackened, charred interior of a bourbon barrel. The body of this mythical beast has roasted barley, black and chocolate malts at its core. The extensive barrel aging process then lends a warming bourbon nose and mouth feel and gives this bold beer a silky smooth finish. Enjoy this while you can because when it is gone it will not return until it rises again.
