Harpoon Brewing out of Boston, MA has just showed up on Eastern Iowa shelves with a few of their selections. I believe they are being distributed by Johnson Brothers but I’ll have to double check that.
Reds Alehouse will once again be playing host to meet the brewer night this coming Wednesday, September 19th. This time around they will have Scott from Firetrucker and Melissa from New Belgium will be there answering questions and chatting about their beers. Here’s the lineup:



Big Grove is staying busy as hell prepping for their big 5 year anniversary party this coming Sunday. They’ve now released what will be available for purchase at both Solon and Iowa City locations. Big Ed and Double Blackberry sour will be on draft and available in cans, Good Day to DIPA will be tap only in Solon and Iowa City, Pralines and Richard will be tap only Solon, and Stripe Cake will be 22 oz bottles and tap at both locations. Hopefully see some of you Sunday morning in Solon! Cheers!
The Pig and Porter restaurant located near the NewBo Market in Cedar Rapids will once again be playing host to the Iowa Turf War Tap Takeover. 2 Iowa breweries pitted against each other each week to see whose beers reign supreme! The 3rd annual Kroul Farm dinner featuring Pullman Bar and Diner chefs will be taking place on Sunday September 16th. Speaking from experiencing the first two dinners, this is a can’t miss event. We had awesome conversation with Mark Jensen and Matt Franklin from Cedar Rapids Brewing Society on their upcoming Drink Local! Festival which is happening this weekend at Benz Beverage Depot in downtown CR. Tickets available
Need Pizza in downtown Cedar Rapids will be hosting a “Funds for Flenker” beer and food event. This event’s proceeds will go towards helping Mr. Flenker pay for his upcoming court costs. Details are in their infancy but expect it take place in late August or early September.
